How to make a fruit cobbler

A few weeks back on a Friday night during the early days of the panademic, I got a little bored. So, I reached out on Facebook to all my friends and posed a very serious question…

Is 9:30pm at night too late to make a blueberry cobbler?

The responses (more than anything else I had posted in some time) was a resounding YES! So I did, and with ice cream because, why not.. we are in quaratine.

Here is mom’s cobbler recipe. I did a video while I cooked it as well. It was delicious 😁

Recipe Details

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup self rising flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 can (12-16 oz) fruit IN syrup (you can add in a tad of unfrozen fruit but not too much) – recipe needs to have the syrup.

✔️ preheat oven o 350 degrees
✔️ put butter into your baking dish and put in oven to melt butter
✔️ mix flour, sugar and milk in separate bowl
✔️ Remove baking dish from oven with melted butter
✔️ Pour batter into the baking dish
✔️ Pour the fruit mixture into the center of the batter – DO NOT MIX!
✔️ Bake in oven for 35-45 minutes – you want top to be golden brown but not too brown as the batter will continue to cook a bit after you take it out.

I think it’s best the next day and cold, but that’s just me.
