On this day in history, Jan 8, 1877, Crazy Horse fights his last battle near the Tongue River in Montana Territory…   Just a few months later, he, along with 1,100 Indians would surrender at Red Cloud Reservation near Nebraska’s Fort Robinson.   Later that same year, Crazy Horse would eventually be killed by Indian policeman stating he was resisting imprisonment.

In 1948, in the Black Hills of South Dakota, a statue honoring the great Lakota Sioux warrior was started.  Below are pics from my visit in 2010…
