I called Memphis home for 18 years and I spent many, many hours down “on the river”. Ole Man River, as it is also referred to, seems to be a person in its own right. It is a river that is both ugly and beautiful depending on the minute of the day, but it is definitely a mainstay in the Memphis landscape and culture. Below is my view of the Mississippi River this past March when it was well on it’s way to historic flood levels…
