At 3528 Avenue P on Galveston Island Texas, sits a quaint little house sparkling in the late afternoon sun and blazing heat/humidity found here in early summer on the Texas Gulf Coast. This lovely little house is part of the 2018 Galveston Historic Homes Tour and on this particular evening, she is hosting a private dinner prepared by Galveston’s own Chef Mary Bass.
Thomas Jefferson League Jr., and wife, Lillie, built this house on property once owned by League’s grandfather, Samuel May Williams, a prominent figure in early Texas history. The elegant two-story house features original woodwork and a full-width porch. The original turned porch columns and balusters were replaced by Craftsman-like elements in the early 20th century.
