Honoring the Birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. | A Southern Girl’s View with Sandy Adams

“The quality, not the longevity, of one’s life is what is important.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today, we as a nation, celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.   King was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta George, but his life was destined to be played out across the south.  I was born just a few months before Dr. King met his death in Memphis, but he has always been such an inspiring man to me.  A man full of flaws that he admitted freely, but such a man of conviction and what was right for all.  A can not imagine the burden that his shoulders carried.   Read about my visit to the last place Dr. King spoke at – Mason Temple in Memphis.

Here are images from the King Memorial in Washington D.C. that I visited in the summer of 2016.
